Bad Breath Is Killing Your Friendships Here’s How to Stop It
Bad Breath also known as halitosis is quietly killing your friendships. Have you ever been around someone who had severe bad breath, but you were afraid to tell them? I know the feeling; I have experienced this myself. A lot of people have bad breath but don’t know what the cause of the problem is. Halitosis is not a disease or disorder but can result from several things causing one to have bad breath. Dental issues, dry mouth, smoking, diet, infections, strong smelling foods, and acid reflux issues can all lead to bad breath.
If you knowingly have bad breath, you probably have anxiety because you don’t know what’s causing the problem. People usually rush to the drug store to get mints, gums, and mouthwashes hoping that will cure the problem. Bad breath can end close friendships if you’re not careful. To constantly be around someone who has bad breath will only drive a wedge between you and your closest friends because they can’t stand the smell. But there is hope to save your closest relationships by getting help from a doctor or trying home remedies. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind to help solve the problem.
Oral Hygiene Is A Key Step
People usually only visit the dentist once every three to five years. It’s very important to visit your dentist regularly to keep your teeth clean. At home, oral health care can stop the cause of bad breath. Visiting the dentist is not something that a lot of people do on a regular basis. Flossing two to three times a day and getting trapped food out of your teeth will improve your oral health and the smell of your breath.
Food trapped between your teeth and along the gum line tends to rot. That rotting of food can cause serious health issues and bad breath. If you have a dry mouth that can be a problem causing unwanted odors, as well. Saliva cleans the mouth helping to get rid of food particles. If you suffer from dry mouth you will usually wake up with bad breath because the mouth is not being cleansed from the saliva. If dry mouth persists you may have a condition known as xerostomia (the mouth produces less salvia) and need to see your doctor. Keeping up with oral hygiene is very important in the first step to combating bad breath.
Changing Your Diet Is Also Important
We all like to eat good food, but eating that food could be a cause of bad breath. If you eat steak, beef, pork, chicken, and other red meats, dairy products, poultry, and junk food, it could be the problem. How we chew our food along with how it is digested can bring about problems. Food, not only getting in the teeth, but sitting in the gut, and rooting can cause a very foul odor. We have to take into account how we chew our food as a starting point for how the food will digest. If you don’t chew your food for at least 20 seconds or more, then you could be swallowing food to fast that hasn’t been chewed thoroughly.
Food rotting in your gut can breed not only bad breath but also disease. Choosing what you eat wisely is just as important as detoxing and fasting. Detoxing and fasting will help to eliminate dead waste in the body that causes bad breath. Eating more vegetables that require you to chew more and adding saliva to the mix can help with the breath issue. Fruits and certain vegetables can help remove bacteria from your teeth and gut. They can also help with cleansing the bowels causing you to get dead petrified waste out of the body. Diet plays a huge role in how good or bad your breath smells. It’s a process but you can achieve it.
Conclusion
Bad breath is not the end of the world. One must learn what the cause of the problem is and then seek to make adjustments. You can have great friendships and a life by admitting that there’s a problem and seeking help. We all have had bad breath at one time or another, but what you do about it is key. By taking care of your oral hygiene and working on your eating habits you can win your life back. Oral health and diet are two of the biggest factors that cause bad breath.
I hope this helps you get back on track
100% SPOT ON! WE HAVE BEEN BRAINWASHED TO THINK IF WE EAT FOOD THAT SMELL BAD OUR BREATH WILL BUT IT IS THE OPPOSITE. YOUR DIET HAS SO MUCH TO DO WITH THIS. #2 ORAL CARE IS SO IMPORTANT. I SEE THIS SO MUCH IN THE MALE COMMUNITY, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE SHORT AS THE BREATH IS PROJECTED OUT AND DOWN. GO TO THE DENTIST FOR CLEANINGS EVERY 6 MONTHS AND USE A WATER PICK IF YOU DON’T LIKE FLOSSING. WHEN YOU TURN 70 YOUR TEETH WILL STILL BE WITH YOU.
Thank you for your commentary and wisdom
